Ladies who Lunch | Bar Solo at The Connacht

On Sunday last myself, Cloda (orangeobviously) and Kerrie (bellaandvogue) were invited along to The Connacht Hotel to try out their new summer lunch menu at Bar Solo. Of course before we headed inside we had to explore and take some blog worthy pictures so we found this picturesque corner on the grounds of The Connacht, such an ideal space to chill on a sunny day!

 To start off I went with Thai Style Fish Cakes with Lemon Curd & Sweet Chilli Dip and Penny Loaf.

It all tasted so so fresh, it was clear the fish used in the cakes was completely fresh and I fell in love with the lemon curd sauce, it was something I've never had before and it complimented the dish beautifully! The penny loaves were such a cute touch and had that freshly baked taste.

 Obviously cocktails were a must..

 For my main course I choose the Ricotta Cheese & Spinach Ravioli - petit pois & pearl onion in a white wine & tarragon veloute with cumin and there was also the option of adding smoked salmon to the dish so I went with that. I know I've used the word fresh twice already but again this whole dish tasted completely fresh! The smoked salmon was delish, it literally melted in my mouth. The pasta tasted homemade and was equally as good as the salmon. The sauce was light and not heavily creamy so didn't leave me feeling sickly bloated.

 Finally for dessert I had the mango & passion fruit cheesecake. This dessert screamed summer vibes and as I'm a huge fan of anything mango or passion fruit flavoured this ticked all the right boxes for me! It had such a refreshing flavour and was lovely and light. It tasted so tropical and to make it even better the stick of chocolate that accompanied it tasted just like kinder chocolate which is my all time fave!

All in all, I honestly can't fault our day out in The Connacht, the staff was super friendly and helpful, the food and drinks were amazing and it very photogenic which is something us bloggers always appreciate, I'll definitely be back! :)

Launch of Eyre Cocktails at The Skeff.

Last Friday I was lucky enough to be invited along to the lauch of Eyre Cocktails at The Skeff along with Into The West Blogger Network. Eyre Cocktails is a new cocktail bar located in The Skeff, Galway. It's right on Eyre Square so the location could not be more perfect.

The host on the night was professional rugby player Jack Dineen, I must say he did a fantastic job, there was also a very special guest which all us bloggers were so excited about and that was Suzanne Jackson (So Sue Me). Suzanne has a signature cocktail at Eyre Cocktails named 'So Sip Me', definitely one of the nicest tasting cocktails I've ever had! It is made up of Vodka, Cremè de Menthe, Kiwi Liquer and Sweet Mix: Blended with crushed ice.  All those ingredients are a match made in heaven.

Eyre Cocktails has the largest selection when it comes to cocktails that I've ever came across so you are guaranteed to find the ideal cocktail for you. We were also treated to food throughout the night and everything was honestly so delicious, I couldn't flaw anything in the slightest.

Overall, I was so impressed with the entire night, I think I may have fallen in love with The Skeff as a venue. It's the ideal place for a Sex and The City inspired girly night out!

I'd also like to say thank you to all at The Skeff for spoiling us and making sure we had a great night, hats off to all the staff for being so friendly and attentive, looking forward to my next visit. :)

Galway Fashion Trail 2016.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to attend the Galway Fashion Trail as part of Galway Fashion Week along with other bloggers from Into the West Blogger Network.

The day started off in Colm Quinn BMW where we were spoilt with a breakfast spread and then chauffeured into town in their gorgeous cars to begin the Fashion Trail. Thank you to all the staff for being so welcoming and accommodating!

Our day ended in The Skeff where we were treated to delicious tapas and yummy cocktails, I'd personally recommend the Mango Collins cocktail, so delish! What a perfect end to an amazing day! Thank you to The Skeff staff for treating us so well.
