A NIGHT IN THE KINGSLEY, CORK.

SHOP THE LOOK

Hotel Stays are definitely one of my favourite luxuries in this life. The feeling of just getting away from your day to day life, be it just for a night, can do wonders for the soul.

Last week I got to stay overnight in The Kingsley, Cork. Much to my shock and delight, I was invited down by the University College Cork Commerce Society to take part in a panel to kick of their Digital Marketing Summit. Accommodation was so kindly arranged for me as part of this and with the hotel being just 5 mins (by car) from UCC, the location couldn't have been more ideal.

Upon checking in, I was informed that I had gotten a complimentary upgrade to a 'Deluxe King Room' which didn't really register with me when I was told by the very helpful receptionist so my lack of reaction to this most likely appeared as if I was less than grateful. However, I couldn't have been more grateful when I entered my not so humble abode for the night.

As I opened the door into my 'Deluxe King Room', I was greeted by an entrance-way leading into the main bedroom area. Along the entrance-way there was a console table to my left and a full length mirror to my right.

Within the main bedroom area, there was what looked to be and what proved to be a beautifully comfortable King Size Bed.  A round table sat near the window with two complimentary bottles of water and a couple of copies of the Irish fashion magazine 'Social & Personal' which made for some perfect night time reading. An armchair also sat near the window, which was a full length bay window overlooking the fountain which stood in front of the quite impressive entrance to the hotel. Also included in the main area, was a TV and a sideboard with a mini fridge inside.

Now onto what I feel like made this room Deluxe. Off the main area, there was the wardrobe and a small desk area with a mirror above leading onto the double doors that opened the bathroom. The double doors painted a beautiful shade of grey were such a simple but oh so effective detail to add an instant luxurious feeling. The bathroom certainly lived up to the expectations of the double door entry, with a double sink area, a bath, a  separate shower shower and of course, obviously the toilet. Included in the bathroom were some gorgeous toiletries from 'Prija', which had a beautiful spa like aroma to them which made leaving the shower even more difficult.

Facilities included in the room:
- Television
- Direct Dial Telephone
- Trouser Press
- Iron & Ironing Board
- Mini Fridge
- Tea/Coffee Facilities
- Air Conditioning
- Free Wifi

The Kingsley is conveniently located very close to the city centre with two restaurants on site, a hotel bar and a comfortable lounge. There is also a luxury spa which offers a variety of treatments and includes a thermal suite, sauna and more. Located on the River Lee, there are some stunning views of the river from various areas of the hotel, and of course, there are rooms available with the option of a river view so make sure to check out their website here for any information you may need.

I most certainly hope to be back..

Until next time,
